These Are My People

I've been doing a lot of crafting lately (in case you haven't noticed by my posts and facebook status).  But last night as I was trying to wind down before bed, I didn't have thoughts of new projects swirling through my head.  Instead, I was thinking of my family.  It made me want to pull out my lap-top and start writing about them....but it was almost 11pm - so I thought I probably better wait until today's lunch break!  :)

James - I can hardly believe James and I will celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary this coming June.  We've certainly had our ups and downs, but I am SO proud of all we've accomplished in our first 10 years, and can't wait to see what the next 10...20...30... have in store for us.

Braxton - This boy makes me want to pull my hair out and squeeze him tight with hugs and kisses all in the same 5 minute time period!  He's SO smart.  He's #2 in his class for math, and #4 for reading, and I am SO proud of him.  He's also doing a GREAT job in wrestling this year.  He the nicest (sometimes) and also the most ornery (most of the time) big brother ever....but I have a feeling that he will always be very protective of his little sister, and I think they will always be very close.

Keely - She is my baby girl...but I am also thankful that she is growing up to be a lovely young lady.  She's still my snuggle bunny (I secretly hope that she always will be).  I love watching her be a "mommy" to her baby dolls, and a singing, dancing little diva in her dress up clothes.  She tries hard to keep up with her big brother.  I am so anxious to see what her interests will be....dance? gymnastics? sports?

Extended Family - We laid to rest my great Aunt Esther a week ago.  I am very happy that she is at peace with the heavenly Father.  She had been praying for him to take her for over a year, and at 98 years old - she was ready.  I am SO thankful that my grandparents (my children's GREAT grandparents) are still with us, as well as both of James' Grandmothers.  They are so special to our family.  I am also FOREVER grateful to my parents, my mom, and James' parents.  It is SO important for children to know and have a relationship with their grandparents.  Knowing that more family than just their Mom and Dad care about them and expect them to do the right thing and work hard in invaluable.  My brother - I am so proud of him.  He has made a lovely home with his wife and daughter.  He is currently serving his 2-weeks with the National Guard, and I am so Thankful for him and all he does.  My sister is having a baby!  OMG...but she'll get it all figured out, and has family to help guide her.  My baby sister is in college - again, OMG!  She seems to be doing well, and I am VERY proud of her.

So, these are my people.  Kind of seems like I just wrote a Christmas letter or something - but whatever.  These are my people, and I LOVE them VERY MUCH.

My Kind of Project

I had a WONDERFUL time at Maple Memories with 12 AMAZING Ladies.  I didn't want to leave!  But, when I did get back home and settled back in....I had lots of orders to fill and new crafting to do!

I've started selling my Domino Necklaces at "Leaving Signs Behind" in Clay Center, KS.  I'll soon have my Zipper Rings available at One-80 Salon in Concordia, KS, AND I'm organizing a Spring Fling Craft Bazaar to be held on Saturday, April 9, 2011 from 9am - 2pm at the Catholic RE Center Basement in Concordia, KS.  So....I've been busy....and will BE busy from now until then!  :)

I've been REALLY wanting to make a new style of necklace...and I was FINALLY able to do it...
Oh, and of course I had to make a matching ring.  The cool thing is....can you believe I made it out of this:

HA!  James said he didn't want this old stained torn sweatshirt anymore....SO, I used the back of it to make this super sweet necklace and ring!!  Braxton found me in my craft room cutting up the sweatshirt and he said "MOM!  Why are you cutting your clothes!!??"  He's really big into "re-using" things lately (they must be learning about that in school right now), so once I told him that I was re-using Dad's old sweatshirt that he didn't want anymore and making a necklace out of it - he thought that was really neat.  James was pretty impressed too - that his crappy old sweatshirt could be made into something so nice....of course he thinks I should split any profit with him!  HA!  Let's take another look...
Ah....I just LOVE these kinds of projects when I can take something from everyday life and turn it into something completely different and BETTER!  :)  Happy Crafting!  :)  Oh, and be sure to come to our Craft Fair!!! :)

Plan of Attack!

Haha...don't worry...no violence here.  It's been a busy week with filling orders, tromping through the snow, and trying to get my house cleaned up and everything packed for a 3-DAY WEEKEND of SCRAPBOOKING!!!  I'm SO excited...I can't even tell you.  There will be 12 of us ladies (friends/family), staying together, at a wonderful place, to scrap/craft/quilt/laugh/eat/enjoy/relax the weekend away!

Here's their website:  http://www.maplememories.com/

So, here's the plan:
*  Since I don't have the time or space to ever get my scrapbooking out at home....I prefer to have long weekends like this so I can bring ALL my stuff (oh yes, it looks like I'm moving out when I load my car).
*  I'm FORCING myself to leave all my fun new crafty stuff and project ideas at HOME so that I'm not TEMPTED to work on those projects.  I mean BUSINESS people....I NEED to gets LOTS of scrapbooking done/caught up/etc...!
*  I'm planning to get EVERYTHING finished up/organized/packed/LOADED.....TONIGHT!  That's right, I want it all done ahead of time.  Keely has her debut Jr. Cheer performance during wrestling on Thursday evening (which we are all SUPER excited for)....and then we're GONE!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend, I'll report back next week with everything I was able to accomplish....and hopefully have a new project to share!  :)

The Latest Thing...

I've been having a GREAT time filling orders for friends and family of domino necklaces, magnets, and zipper rings.  I've had between 1-5 orders every day!!  Check out the latest request for a BIG FUNKY RED Zipper Ring:
Earlier this week, I had the opportunity to learn a little more about Facebook for Business, and Creating a Website.  SO.....I made a new Facebook Business Page for the shop (Budreau Muffler, Automotive & Tow) AND I made a new page for my jewelry and creaft designs!!!  After much thought and suggestions from friends & family - I decided to call it:  Make It Yours.  I love to make stuff.  I figure if other people want to look at the stuff I make and make it for themselves - more power to them.  OR if they like my stuff and want me to make it for them - I'd LOVE to!! :)  It's been going great so far, and I'm having SO MUCH FUN!! :)  Here the link if you want to "like" my page:  http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Make-It-Yours/151626644892803

I didn't have any orders that needed filled last night....SO......I made these:
It's a necklace and a ring made out of fabric.  A "Pom Pom Bib Necklace" and "Pom Pom Ring."  I wore them today with a dark brown shirt....and got a lot of compliments!  I plan to make at least one more in gray...and then see if anyone decides to order before I make any other colors.

For tonight, I do have some orders to fill (4 Zipper Rings, 1 Metal Stamp Necklace, and 3 Domino Designs).  So it's off to tuck my kiddos in bed - and then down to the craft room to have some fun!  :)
